Challenge #1: Realistic Skull Make-UpChallenge Description:
This is a realistic skull challenge designed to test your skill and understanding of light, shadow, and anatomy. You are only allowed to use the makeup products that were sent to you; no additional makeup products will be allowed. This will include the use of any prosthetics except for the use of a bald cap. You are, however, free to use any props, contacts, and costuming to enhance your makeup. Even though this is a skull, you are welcome to build a character around your makeup. Materials:
My Inspiration:
For this challenge, I was inspired by Marie Antoinette and 18th Century French Court extravagant attire. I created a two-foot paper wig and paper bouquet to replicate the exaggerated, outrageous, and over-the-top fashions and hair styles from the time period. This character is a French Corpse Bride from 1775 who died right before her wedding and was buried with her riches. |

Challenge #2: Monochromatic Lipstick Make-UpChallenge Description:
This is a skills and creativity challenge. Similar to last year's monochromatic challenge, you will be tasked to create a complete makeup look using only the single product given to you with the exception of these materials:
Materials: We were each randomly given a different color of Sugarpill Pretty Poison Lipstick. I was given Nurse, which is a dark red color. My Inspiration:
For this challenge, I wanted to use the lipstick in a more unconventional way that did not necessarily follow the natural contours of the face. I also wanted to utilize some sort of prosthetic in order to enhance or alter the face. In the end, I chose to create a Dart Board with Darts, but the real challenge was making them look realistic. I had to create a strong support system with Liquid Latex and Wires in order to make the darts stand upright, and not fall. |
Final Score:
Use of Product/Efficiency of Materials: 6.33 | Presentation: 7 | Creativity: 7 | Cleanliness/Technique: 6.67
TOTAL: 26.99/40 (Sixth Place)

Challenge #3: Holiday Make-UpChallenge Description:
This is a challenge that will be focusing on your creativity and skill. You were given a variety of products this round, and we want to see what kind of makeup look can be completed utilizing these products in the given Holiday theme. Use the products traditionally, but we also highly encourage you to use the products in different and creative ways as well, thus tying in techniques you may have learned from the last challenge (i.e. using a lipstick as your eyeliner). Also, like the last challenge, you will only be allowed to use the products given to you with the exception of these materials:
Holiday: Saint Patrick's Day Materials:
My Inspiration:
For this challenge, I was determined to prove myself due to last challenge's results, and to do so I wanted to produce something that represented me. I am a silly kid at heart and my humor is made up of puns, so I decided to create a play-on-word with the Saint Patrick's Day symbol: Sham-ROCK. Additionally, In order to push myself further, I wanted to play with techniques I have never used before such as wig fabrication, bald caps, and body paint clothing. In conclusion, I created this Irish Rocker and used David Bowie as an inspiration. |
